What this ranking really measures

Flegm's all-time ranking isn't a list of YouTube's most-viewed videos. It's something else, and that's deliberate. Here, a video doesn't climb because an algorithm pushed it, nor because a channel has millions of subscribers: it climbs because people, one by one, decided it was worth defending. The total displayed next to each title is the sum of all the votes received since it went live, with no expiration date.

This method produces a result very different from classic YouTube trends. On Flegm, you'll find at the top of the table videos that marked the community for reasons that don't only come down to the view counter: a memorable cooking battle, a format that launched a trend, a challenge that became a cult favorite. The all-time ranking is where these videos coexist, whether they date from 2019 or this season.

Our methodology, made clear

Three principles guide this ranking. First, the vote takes precedence over the view: only the number of people who validated a video on Flegm counts, not its YouTube score. Second, no time window: unlike the weekly and monthly tops, the all-time ranking forgets nothing and accumulates votes over the entire lifespan of a video. Third, the order stays alive: an old video can be overtaken by a new one that wins over people faster, and vice versa.

Concretely, more than 1,200 videos from around fifty channels are today competing for the top spots, for a total of several tens of thousands of cumulative votes. The gaps at the top are slim: the very first videos sit within a few votes of each other, which makes the top of the ranking particularly contested and unstable from one week to the next.

By dint of observing what climbs and what stays, a profile takes shape. An all-time video almost always has a strong, recognizable format: you know in one sentence what it's about. It offers a clear stake (a challenge, a duel, a face-off) rather than a simple moment. 6. "1000 COUCHES DE GLACE" - Amixem. The big survival/absurd format in the French style. Amixem fully owns the all-out concept that defines him, and the French community showed up: it's his most-voted video.
